In the Baltic countries and in the other former USSR countries, no cases have been registered so far, in Mongolia they have not been registered as well. For the moment, there is no need to worry about traveling to Russia and the countries of the former Soviet Union.
As to the travel packages we offer, only the Trans-Mongolian deserves a special attention, that is, the Trans-Siberian itineraries that involve Beijing, China. In case you are planning individual itineraries, in order not to take risks, we recommend opting for the classic route, that arrives to Vladivostok, or with the arrival in Ulan Bator, Mongolia.
Concerning to the trips on Imperial Russia and Grand Express special trains, that arrive in Beijing, it is possible to purchase them, as they are scheduled for summer and for that period we rely on the stop of the epidemic. If you do not wish to leave this itinerary, you can book the tour safely, knowing that:
- in case of normalization of the situation, the tour will be carried out regularly on the planned itinerary;
- if the infection is still active on the dates of your trip, the itinerary will be reduced excluding China (with the refund of the unused part), or it will be modified by inserting new stops instead of Beijing;
- In the unfortunate and unlikely case that the epidemic spreads to the other areas of your trip, you will receive a full refund of expenses, besides those not directly attributable to the Tour Operator (for example, consular fees, while for air tickets it will depend on airline company policy).
Cancellation policy in case of problems related with the coronavirus
During this period, the international community is following with concern the development of the coronavirus epidemic. Currently, 99% of cases are concentrated in China, especially in the Wuhan region, the epicenter of the epidemic. So far, only two cases are officially registered in Russia, both related with Chinese citizens and both in non-touristy areas (one case in the Tyumen oblast, and one case in Zabaykalsky Krai). The Russian authorities have taken all necessary measures to prevent the development of infection in its territory.
